Encoded "mpv" file to BIG

Help Please,
I have joined to avi parts and converted to dvd using CM's tut as I have done many times before with no problems, but this time the resulting mpv and ac3 files once authored in "TMPGEnc DVD Author" are to big for the DVD.
Which setting(s) do I need to change?
I have the bitrate cd size set at dvd+r but I use dvd-r disks
I also noticed that the avi parts had ac3 audio.

Possibly you calculated the size based on say 224k 2 channel audio but are instead using say 384k 5.1 AC3 audio which would put you over.

Thanks for the quick reply, exactly that, my "audio 1 bitrate" was set to 192
