edonkey/emule please help

Any body know how to fix the LOWID in emule as i keep getting this when i try to connect to any servers. the documentation on the edonley web site is useless. i'm running 98se on a network with a network internet connection (i have a feeling the router on the network maybe the problem)

any help would be great

thanks

You may try the plus version of emule, and under preferences/server tick on the "use smart lowID" option.
still getting LOWID but cheers for the help

you got a lowid because noone can connect to your emule client directly from the net.
so you have to forward a few ports somewhere 466* to the client (ports are afaik listed and can be changed in the emule options). you can do this on most routers via the webinterface ... just look it up in the doku
got a donkey client (mldonkey) setup in my home-lan too, and i've got always high ids

Using .26d and a Linksys firewall router, I only forward ports 4661-4662 tcp and udp, and get hi-ids.
