Hi ...recently d/loaded a few movies all avi/divx etc...Have read up on tmpg+vdub etc.,gave me a headache.

Is there an easy prog where you can just drop the avi file into it and it transfers it to a vcd/dvd format (ie VIDEO_TS folder ,picture and sound)to burn with recordnow,primo etc...?

I've tried "Neodvd plus" which is ok are there any others that are better?

Something that preferably keeps the aspect ratio.and don't take several hours to encode!

Thanks.

I hope poacher will put his velcome message as you need it a lot :)
Check a cm tut using dvd2svcd with cce2.50.I encoded over 50 divx-xvid to svcd and all come perfect out.
Have a good fun here

Try Nero Vision Express.
Drop in the avi, out comes the burned DVD.
Get fancy and add chapters and menus too. :eek:
It's the easiest I have found anywhere, however, it is going to take a couple of hours. :D

easy for sure, but uses one of the worst MPEG2 encoders ever (quality wise);

You know that, and I know that, but it does do what he asked. :p
Personally, I use TMPGEnc to encode, then set up chapters and stuff in NVE (very easy to do) then transcode and burn. Makes decent quality dvdr's.
I also have about 6 other authoring programs, each more complicated than the one before, and still, I rely on tmpegenc to encode, and tmpgenc's dvd author to...um...author...and burn also. :rolleyes:
NVE has a nasty habit of dropping the bitrate to 2500 or less and transcoding half D1. I have NO idea why, so I've given up. TMPGEnc DVD Author does just nicely, with chapters at given time intervals being enough for me.
Note to self: I wonder if TMPGEnc can import NVE saved projects...complete with chapter points?

Edit: Nope, won't do it :mad: :(
