anyone use Easy DivX 0.81 before? is it same as divx5? I'm new to this can explain to me? :) Thanks :)

Alll ,NO THERE NOT THE SAME.. EASY DIVX IS A PACKAGE PROGRAM THAT CONVERTS DVD TO MPEG4 FORMAT.... ONTO 1 OR 2 CD'S YEAH.
DIVX 5 OR 5.1 IS THE CODEC FOR DECODING & ENCODING THE INFO FROM DVD TO THE MPEG4 FORMAT. I USE TO USE EASY DIVX BACK THEN IT WAS 0.62 THEN 0.68 WAS VERY GOOD.. NOT SURE ABOUT THIS VERSION AND THE CODEC... ONCE AGAIN BACK THEN THE CODEC I WAS USING WAS 4.11...
TRY THE PROGRAM BUR MAKE SURE THAT YOU INSTALL THE CODEC ON TO YOU SYSTEM B4 USING THE EASY DIVX PROGRAM BRO....
ALSO CHECK OUT EASY DIVX FORUM FOR HELP... IF YOU NEED OLDER VERSION OF EASY DIVX DROP MI A LINE.. GOT MOST OF DEH FROM VERSION 0.35 UPWARDS....ALSO YOU WILL NEED A SOFTWARE PLAYER SAY POWERDVD.... ;)
PS: YOU COULD LOOK AT THE DIVX 5xx as the heart of the whole thing.

Or what ever you want to call it. The backing up of your DVD goes in a numbers of steps.
Easydivx support most of them, only two are not supported yet.
EasyDivX supports:
Decrypting the DVD and copying it to a harddrive.
Making of a Divx .avi file
MP3 or AC3
1 or 2 CD


Not yet supported by Easydivx are:
Burning the file’s to a CD".

Although I'm not that clued up on DiVx, it appears you need DivX 5 (or previous version) installed as the program uses it for the encoding process.
