EAC doesn't recognize USB burner

Reading thru some threads on the rave of EAC so I decided to try it. Loaded fine and recognizes my Pioneer DVD burner and cd rom but not my Yamaha cdr/rw burner. I'm stumped. I am trying to use EAC to burn copy of my cd for my car. Other progarams won't let me see the music tracks on a enhanced cd so I can burn them. They work fine for non enhanced cd's. Any advice or direction is sincerely appreciated.

Install vobaspi, available at vob support pages and try @ EAC-->EAC options--> interface tab-->Use of SCSI interface-->toggle between the 2nd and the 3th option......
1 of them should work to recognise your external device...

still no luck

I downloaded the asapi and installed and toggled between the other two. However, the third cause system failure so I did a system restore deleted the eac key from the registry and reinstalled the asapi and eac and toggled between the first two. Still no luck. Check the eac website faq with no luck. Your advice is sincerely appreciated. Is there something I am missing?

Im using eac last version with lg dvd-cdrw48xspeed over external drive coonnector(usb)and it does work, but only with the spti-with aspi didnt work. So,it does work.. :) :)

spti location

zver, I think you may be right. Where do I find spti and after I install it do I have to reinstall eac? I think I am getting somewhere.

disc info says Yamaha is spti

I guess spti is part of xp. I used disc info tool and all my cd writers show spti. Is there something else I am supposed to do?

It's strange that EAC crashed when you selected the 3th option...because "native win32 interface for WINNT/2000/XP" IS SPTI,and it's not supposed to crash with EAC....seems that something is wrong with your setup.....do your other burning programs work with SPTI?

Others work with spti

I have used the Yamaha with Nero and my dvd burner also. Disc info says they all three are spti. EAC recognizes the dvd burner and the cd-rom only. I guess I'm stuck with Nero until something gives. I 'll keep checking back to see if something comes up and will check the eac site some more. Meanwhile I need to check some more on this site for making a various artist music video dvd from the music video dvd's I have to keep from changing dvd after a song has played.
