do you want to turn the avis into dvd's that can be played on a standalone player or just put as many avi files as possible onto a dvd?

Nero 6 is the best for both but if you have dvd's you want copying dvd shrink is the best by far.

Built into nero is a brilliant tool where you can import avi files create chapters create your own menus and then burn to dvd to play as you would a retail dvd in a standalone you will be able to merge two parts using that.

You can get the demo from...

http://www.nero.com/en/631934351031098.php

it is worth paying for it.
however i would like to say www.cdrsoft.cc is a good website if you know what i mean wink wink nod nod.

Does that help?

What is the easiest way to split a movie into 2 parts with DVDShrink.

I do not want to compress them, so in most cases I have to put them on 2 DVD blanks.

Thanks

You have to use the reauthor option and split the film into two directories (Disc 1 and 2).

Shrink has a start and stop function.

Drag the film title to the left.
Choose the audio/subtitles wanted
Then click on the two arrows above the word size. This shows the chapters. You have to decide on where to split the film. Say you wanted to split at chapter 10, you select 10 as the end chapter.
Backup to a directory (disc 1).

Do the same process again but start at 11 and go to the end of the film. Then backup to a different directory (disc 2).

If you use 3.1.7 (the final version is out now). You can backup to a ISO file and then it burns automatically in DVD Decrypter. Or do it to a folder and use Nero.
