The NEC 1300A is NOT the most forgiving burner when it comes to unknown, low quality media. A firmware update might improve it.

Mediakoden (dye) är YiJhan001 - it would appear the dye type on this media is
Yi Jhan 001 = Plasmon LV3

Looks like firmware 1.09 or better is required, but note the warnings and troubles!

FLASHING FIRMWARE is a RISKY BUSINESS - you really need to have it pinned down as 100% correct for the drive.

A safer answer is to stick to Ritek G04 dye (-R) or DVD+R media for this drive - what you save in buying cheap unknown media, you lose in wastage from failures!
Generally, the drive is descended from the +R 1100A drive, their expertise and development is stronger in +R than it is in -R, and the drive has a greater range of acceptable +R media than -R - there is also a bit less "junk media" in +R than there is in -R.

Lists NEC and rebrand firmware for the drive.
If you wanted to play imports (a reasonable enough request) then you can bypass DVD region coding by using a RPC2 autoreset firmware - though I'd sooner mess around with a cheap DVD-ROM, than use hacked firmware on a writer.

The other tweak/hack - and official in SOME, is the "booktype" fix - which involves marking a DVD+R as DVD-ROM, and improves compatibility with SOME players. If your stanadlone DVD player plays it anyway, you do NOT need a booktype hack, as it's a detection or go/no-go issue.

as LTR12101B suggested, you should try flashing to one of Herrie's firmwares (probably 1.08v2, which includes bitsetting support) because he adds additional media support into his firmwares. hopefully Herrie threw in a write strategy that will work for your discs.

i'd like to add that there's little risk in flashing the 1300A because the dos flashers can actually revive misflashed drives (which happened to me once as a result of a power outage).
