DVDMAestro and large files

Hi everyone,

I have the following problem: I'm trying to iport in DVD Maestro a video asset that is very large: about 5 giga with extension .m2v

I obtained this file with the Demultiplex tool in Tmpgenc: here I had inserted the only VOB obtained from ripping a DVD and asking to merge all the VOB files.

Now the problem is: even if the file is 5giga large (1h 30m lenght) when I insert it in DVD Maestro I see only about 40 minutes of video and the rest of file is not recognized!!!

What am I doing wrong? Why DVD Maestro doesn't recognize a so large file ?

What is this large file you are trying to import? Is it a movie rip?

5 gigs seems a lot of file for one m2v file!!!

Can I also ask if you are using the NTFS setting for your hd containing the m2v file? If you are using Fat32 you will surely have problems with files over 4gigs too! If so, convert to NTFS if your OS allows it.

If that aint the case, have you tried loading the m2v file into something like DVDIt? If it works in that and you really need to use DVDMaestro for your production, you could create a simple based movie in DVDIt with your m2v file, create a DVD Folder and then import to DVDMaestro after a re-rip using DVDRip perhaps?

Long winded, but might help your situation?

Let us know how you get on, but the 5 gig size is gonna have to be cut down before burning anyway mate....

Maybe even a simply re-encode in TMPGEnc is in order to start with?
