Hi all,

I have a problem with my finished product in DVDlad. Ok i'll gove you a qwik rundown. I have a 2cd SVCD whichi want to convert to dvd using DVDLAB as followed by this tutorial... http://www.mediachance.com/dvdlab/Help/quick.htm

I can watch these two SVCD's on my XMS DVDplayer. There are a couple of questions i would like to ask you people
;
When i have finished following all instructions with the abovementioned link i get to the end and burn it to dvd-r using Nero. But when i put it into my DVD player i get an error saying "no disk". But if i put it on my, PC SAMSUNG DVD player it works great with all the chapters i have put oin and all the authoring i have done. Now before everyone says "get a new DVD player" i have to tell you all that i have backed up a few of my DVD's i have bought onto dvdr using DVD shrink and they work fine on my XMS. Any ideas?

Also is there a better way of judging the amount of audio delay needed rather than just guessing?

Also sorry if this is in the wrong section. Thanx ALL!!

Just authoring SVCD to a DVD doesnt magically convert them to dvd compliant files. They are basically still svcd's and MANY dvd players will NOT play them. Even some that play the origianl SVCD's wont play them authored to dvdr. Each dvd player is different and all have some issues. The only real way around that is to actually re-encode them to true DVD complain files.

ChickenMan thanx for your reply.
I thought DVDlab did the encoding? Obviously not so what program would you recommend to use? So i don't use DVDLAB anymore for SVCD's?

Also what about that Audio Delay?

Thanx once again!!!

CM,

Just to let you know M8. I tried the DVD out on My Brothers JVCDVD and works Great. So instead of Mucking around with re-encoding and all that Jazz i might just keep the cheap ass XMS dvd i have for the kids to muck around with and buy myself a JVC DVD. I also did notice that the Audio was delayed by about 1/2 sec. How can i adjust it exactly to be insync with the movement? Is it a guessing game or there is way using DVDLAB to accurately make insync?

Thanx once again!!
