How is the material handled if I increase the value from 80% to 100%, and what happens to the dvd-material if i decrease it to 0% ?
I don't get the right setting for this feature.

Hi kenma!

welcome to the forum!
I have moved your thread here, because this is an InstantCopy Question, little hint for your next post, provide a little more information when asking something, since not everyone is familiar with InstantCopy, so most people wont know what you are talking about when you ask for DVDAutofast!

Now to your question.

DVDAutofast is only used when you use InstantCopy 8 in automatic mode, it is used to determin at which percentage of video size InstantCopy switches from Quality to FastMode.
This means, InstantCopy will use Fast Encoding Mode for any Titel thats % value is lower then what you have set in the DVDAutofast setting.
So any Title matching this rule will be encoded with fast encoding resulting in a lesser quallity compared to the quallity mode.

Now its up to your personal perception to decide at what percentage you feel Quality encoding doesnt loose much to fast encoding anymore, there is no global rule one could provide for this setting!

Hope this clears things up!

Greetnx

I think you wanted to say "... thats % value is higher than...", right?

I found this post... I too am confused with the language to describe the function of DVDAutoFast. Can you rephrase the explanation? :)

Let's say I want the best quality... as I recall, IC has fast mode of encoding, and high quality.

Let's say i want to use the High Quality mode... how does this feature effect this selection. (or is this mode non-automatic, and would not be a factor?)

BTW: what function will losen up the conservative estimation for DVD size... so that the image/pdi file will tend to be larger (and less compressed?) most of DVD's come out under 4GB seems like i have 5-10% of space that could be used for better quality.

Thanks!!

Just looking for quality...

So please, if someone smarter than me could translate... if speed is not an issue for me and I just want always use the higher quality setting, should I set the slider to 0% or 100%?

Anyway, Mr. Mad Guy, thank you so much for this must-have tool!
