If you double click the AVI's icon and Windows Media Player does not open and play it, then right clicking will not give you information. Just load into VirtualDUB and go to File Information, its all in there as well.

Run GSpot to see what the Vid and Aud codec used in the AVI are, as it sounds like BeSweet cant handle the audio properly. There are some wiede audio codec around at the moment. Just manualy extract it using VirtualDUB and copy to the folder DVD2SVCD is using, rename to Extracted_Audio_1.mpa and then do a Recover (Misc tab) in DVD2SVCD)

Here is what i found, i used gspot and it said , Video Codec uyvy Name rawvyuy, status codec not installed, Audio format PCM audio,Status no codec needed, so i installed Divx 5.02 from cdrsoft same thing. When i use Virtualdub the Codec shows in compression but why does it not work?

Thank's for all your Help ChickenMan

I also tried file information in virtueldub, this is what i got , Video Stream- 320x240 15.000fps , # of frames -196 ,Decompressor-microsoft yuv, Keyframes 196, Audio- 11025hz ,Channels- 1 mono
Sample precision - 8 bit ,Compression Pcm [Uncompressed] maybe this will help straighten me out.

Thank's

VD has indicated the Audio is PCM (standard WAV format) but at only 11khz, 8 bit and mono. This is of poor quality and I suspect BeSweet has bucked at trying to convert to 44.1 khz 16 bit stereo.

The Video is also 15 fps and VD saying Codec is uyvy Name rawvyuy. Then thats telling me it was NOT made properly in the first place.

Did you make this file ? and are you trying to convert to SVCD or VCD using DVD2SVCD. (sorry but both those not clear to me).

Yes i made the file with Virtualdub set it up under compression and then capture avi,im trying to capture a good avi to make into a svcd from satelite,i have been useing my ati aiw 7500 mpeg 1 file format,it looks good but as soon as i convert with tmpgenc and burn with vcdeasy or nero it gets blocky.

Okay, so I suggest you look at the settings your using in VD to capture as 15 frames/sec is 1/2 what it should be. Your NTSC so set to 29.97 fps. Increase the audio settings to 16bit Stereo @ 48khz. Also, the picture size should be 480 x 480 if possible, anything smaller will produce sub standard results. I would suggest even capturing with VD to DivX format. DivX 5.02 is fine and use a datarate of around 1000 to 1500, the higher the better results but may result in dropped frames so you need to experiment first to find the best datarate.

Ya me again i think im getting closer ,i think i changed most settings you talked about ,the picture is better ,i checked this avi with gspot and it says no codec found again, if you do not mind could you walk me through these setting changes in virtueldub so i make sure it is right ,i would appreciate very much.
