I am trying to convert a AVI from my harddrive into a DVD.I am using Chickenmans Tutorial "How to convert your DivX's to DVD +_ R "When I run the AvI thru DVD2SVCD and it is all finished In the folder where the 20-30+ files are sent there is no Encoded-Video CCE-NTSC.mpv there is only the pal.mpv...My DVD Player won't recognize a PAL...It only wants NTSC...What am I doing wrong?...Any ideas.....

What frame rate is the AVI it would appear to be PAL &

If U have a standalone that cant play PAL U can either convert to NTSC or get a standalone that plays PAL
I have never converted to PAL/NTSC from NTSC/PAL but from what the experts on here say U may end up with a jumpy end result

Your not doing anything wrong. DVD2SVCD converts a PAL to PAl movie. You can convert an NTSC to PAL with DVD2SVCD but result is jerky.
Unfortunately there are many Region 1 DVD Players made to a price to play NTSC only. You get what you pay for. There is no quick solution that your after but you can start to have a read here on how to do it all using TMPGenc. http://www.geocities.com/xesdeeni2001/StandardsConversion/index.html

in my experience it's not worth the hassle of re-encoding pal/ntsc or visa versa and as CM said, jerky playback will result. it maybe worth purchasing a standalone that can play either. I'm not sure what part of the globe you're from, but here in the UK you can pick up a Paciffic 2001 for a mere £45, with 3 year warranty, that will play just about anything.
