DVD2SVCD problem

Hi, I have always used cladDVD and Tmpgenc for all my vcd's.

Last week I tried to backup Independance Day but was unhappy with the results, so I decided to try DVD2SVCD.

I have followed the tutorial on this site but I cannot get it to finish. I have tried 3 different DVD's but all stop at the same point.

Here is the log from the last wasted 3hrs.

First of all, upgrade your DVD2SVCD ver. 1.1.0 build 1 to build 1c, many bug fixes between 1 and 1c.

The above stopped as CCE was about to execute. What version of CCE have you installed? It should be 2.50 ONLY ! Did you re-boot the PC just prior to running DVD2SVCD? If you change the encoder to TMPGenc, (using 2 pass VBR) does the problem still occur?

@ jorel, I have attached the .ini file for you to look at.

@chickenman, I will try upgarding to ver. 1c.

I have tried it with CCE 2.5 & 2.64. Same with both copies.

I've had it run for 3hrs to generate the .vaf in CCE and then it just sits there.

I haven't tried changing the encoder because I wanted to try CCE, but I see what you are saying, it would hopefully prove the batch proccess that is being run from DVD2SVCD.

Thanks for the replies.

I will have a play and report back.

Update

@chickenman

Downloaded the latest ver. of DVD2SVCD 1c. It now manages to get to 33% encoding before stopping.
Before you ask, no I didn't keep the log file:eek: .

Anyway, changed encoder for TMPGenc . Accepted defaults so as not to make too many changes and it worked fine. Completed and made the 2 bin & cue files.

Finally burnt the svcd's using VCDeasy.:)

Just need to sort out how to alter the settings in TMPGenc and how to use these bin & cue files. It would only allow me to import the bbmpeg files and then made new bin & cue's prior to writing.

Using TMPGenc, just set to VBR 2 pass for best results and accept all the other defaults.

To burn the cue/bin files with VCDEasy, hit the Tools button, then the CDRDAO tab and in the "Burn a CUE or TOC CD Image", load in the cue sheet and hit Burn.

Thanks for the reply.

As they say, 'don't fix it if it aint broken'.

I'll stick with TMPGenc for now.
