DVD2SVCD Problem (please help)

OK I have a problem and was wondering if I can get some quick help.

The problem is when I use DVD2SVCD when it gets to the TMPGEnc encoding it does not do the whole movie from start to finish. It rips the movie in chapters. My friend has the same program but when it encodes plays the movie in full length. I have created a movie with the program once before with no problems now all of a sudden it is not working correctly.

What is wrong with it, when the DVD2AVI starts there is nothing in the VOB cell ID box, yet on my friends computer there are numbers can this have anything to do with the problem.

I have added the partial log file from DVD2SVCD, (due to the fact that I stopped encoding when it began to rip in chapters).

Is there any settings in the programs to stop this from happening I have a pentium 4 2.4ghz, 512 DDR Ram and am using the DVD2SVCD 1.0.9 build 3 and I use the TMPGEnc 2.58.44.152 Plus (full version) to rip the movies I am using SmartRipper 2.41.

I have followed Chickenman settings to a tee, but I have used the SVCD setting instead of chickenmans VCD settings due to the fact that I want to make SVCD and not VCD movies.

Please can someone get back to me as fast as possible as it is driving me insane trying to work this out.

Fat Elvis

i cant help with your problem but there is a new updated version available yesterday. go to www.doom9.net and download this new version. remove your old version before instaling new version, hope this helps

dvd2svcd

there is no need to remove the old version it will update fine i have done this with every version since dvd2svcd came out . you may want to use the default dvd2svcd settings instead of fooling aroynd with settings manually . you may try dvd decrypter then load the filews manually this does correct some problems with SOME dvd`s the only setting i change are the output folders so i can easily delete all the shit when i`m done also the motion search precision to normal for speeds sake default works fine with 99.9% of the over 200 dvd`s i have copied

Thanks for the help guys but I have worked out the problem.
As I have only ever used the settings provided by Chickenman (his vcd settings) I have never really sat down and watched a full SVCD run which starts by converting or testing what seems to be chapters. This only goes on for a few chapters before is starts encoding the movie from start to finish.

thank you once again for the help.

As mentioned above, upgrade your DVD2SVCD to latest ver 1.1.1 build 2, you have a VERY old version there.

The first pass by TMPGEnc (or CCE) of a VBR encode is to find the places within the movie that need more data or less data. Has nothing to do with Chapters at all. A VCD is CBR and data rate is flat (constant) throuout the movie so thats why you never saw that happening with VCD's.
