dvd2svcd prob

hey all this is my first time here

i just converted a dvd to svcd using dvd2svcd & cce. when i got done, and watched the results, i was happy with the quality, but i noticed that there were tiny black bars on the left & right of the screen. i set the AR to 4:3 and, i resized it to SVCD (480/576). i opened it up in vcdgear, and it said the size of it was 480x480.anyone know how to get it to 480x576?

480x480 is the size DVD2SVCD will do when it converts an NTSC movie. 480x576 is for PAL. You cannot set these file sizes specifically as they are set for each type, be it NTSC or PAL. Your original DVD is obvioulsy NTSC. However if you want it to be PAL, just tick the NTSC to PAL box in the Conversion tab of DVD2SVCD.

The tiny black bars to the left and right are common on many movies, you just w9ill not see them on TV playback though because of the TV's overscan (picture is always a bit bigger than the size of the screen therefore a bit is always chopped off.)
