when trying to convert 2 dvd's to one using dvd2one i get a message DVD2one can not decrypt protected data. Anyone got any ideas on this and if i get get around it.

tried using smartripper but it says SOME FILES ARE STILL LOCKED, TRY TO UNLOCK WITH PLAYER.

my dvd drive is a pioneer 104

Start the dvd with windvd or powerdvd and watch it for some seconds :)

Then start smartripper again ;)

I had the same problem with smart ripper, Even after unlocking the movie through windvd, I was just basically testing smart ripper as i normaly use dvd deycripter that just so happens to work trouble free, so as you can imagine i ditched smart and carried on using dvd deycripter.So if i were you i would just use that.

how do i use dvddecrypter to rip 2 discs. What i was trying to 2 was rip 2 discs then remove menus, subtitles, etc etc and then try and put it on 1 disc.

Then DVd2ONE will NOT do what your after. I have converted the LOTR Extended Edition 2 DVD's to one DVD by following my tutorial ( http://www.cdrbase.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=26515 ) but setting the dick size to 2200 ( half of 4400 ) and re-encoding each separately. Then authoring in Maestro, you link the end action of Movie1's last chapter to the first chapter of Movie2. Then all run seamless and at the best quality possible.

What happens if we use dvd2one to compress the 4400Mb to 2200Mb but kept in *vob format and not converted to svcd instead, what can we use to burn the 2 sets of Vobs?

Is DVD Maestro still available from somewhere? ;)

Welcome to the forum CoolPiano.

DVDLab or TMPGEnc DVD Author would be the best to author the 2 movies that DVD2One produced for you as it can import the VOB files directly, Maestro cannot. Both can also make a simple Menu for you as well.
