DVD2DVD-R Problem.

Hi all, hope you can help me here.

I'm attempting to backup a copy of The Green Mile using the tutorial that Chickenman has provided. I have had problems when creating SVCD's using Cinema Craft Encoder before so I'm not sure what to do. The problems I'm having now are: I set everything up as told to in the tutorial I went to bed and woke up this morning and CCE was still active. Nothing was happening just sitting there at the main box it uses. I could select two options encode and exit, I thought that if the movie was finished encoding the machine would shut down (as I ticked the box). The blue line at the bottom of DVD2SVCD was right at the end but nothing was happening.

I went into the target folder where I had everything saved and there was only 16 files as apposed to the 20-30 chickenman said there would be. I could not find the large Mpg file that we can run to check if it turned out correctly. There was how ever the two required files. I haVe encluded the file here:

Any problems here?

Now the other problem I have is when I go to DVDMaestro and try to add the chapter 00:00:00:00 I cant see it there, there is 52 chapters added but I can't find the one that is used for auto play on most players.

Could it be the CCE Patcher I am using? Which patcher is the best (I know this is a non warez forum but if someone could PM me with the details of the patcher used this would be great. The one I am using only finds the .exe file I have one that patches into the matrix? Which one is better to use.

Anyhelp would be great he as Im stuck and want to work it all out!

Few things, why are you re-encoding the AC3 to AC3? Wouldn't it be easier/quicker just to leave it as is? Also why resize to 720x576 when the source is already 720x576?

Lastly if you are using CCE 2.5 and AVISynth v2.5.x then the resampleaudio() trick won't work.

Mate not to sure all I did was print out chickenmans tutorial and then follow it word for word. This is the first time I have tried to make a DVD-R in this way I normally use DVDXCopy Xpress 2.5.2 but after reading what Chickenman said about this way being better I thought I would give it a try.

Where ahve I gone wrong and waht can I do to fix it. Any ideas at all?

Not sure if you have done anything wrong. What I pointed out I would say are more a bugs in DVD2SVCD than anything that you did. I guess it isn't really designed for DVD2DVDR.

Personally I wouldn't bother with it, just write your own AVS and encode that with CCE. Demux your AC3 or just set it to demux when ripping and take that with your M2V from CCE and author.

If you have had problems with CCE for SVCD's then maybe your version is just stuffed?

Thanks for your help mate. I don't understand why its not working, I followed the tutorial to the letter but I guess your right about DVD2SVCD.

I want to get good quality dvd's I did lord of the rings with DVDXCopy Xpress and it came out patchy on the blacks so I thought I would try this method.

Anyone eles have any ideas about this problem?

Yeah I had a quick look over it I'm going to download it now and see what it can do for me.

Thanks again for that mate!
