DVD XPress copy, only uses first episode off dvd

Hi guys I have been using Xpress dvd for soemtime now but I recently tried to copy a star trek TNG DVD which had 4 episodes on it and I am trying to copy the 8.5GB disc onto a 4.3 GB disc.

It works VERY well with regular movies but with these 4 episodes it only copies the first episode and nothing else, and even that isnt compressed.

Any options? any ideas?

Welcome to the forum!I have heard that CloneDvd works well with Episodic dvd's.You can download it here.

You have to rip the dvd first with Any Dvd from here.. ,or use Dvd Decryptor.

Not sure the quality will be so good because you are transcoding a lot of data. ;)

Forgive my ignorance Admin, but are you telling me with a DVD ripper I can rip the dvd at 4.3 gigs and then jsut use clone CD to create the DVD? well if its that simple Im gonna beat myself. I have spent days trying to figure this one out

Turned out AMAZINGLY! I did a few variations

first I tried 5.1 sound with all 4 episodes on one 4.7 gb disc IE 183 minutes of video and sound with menus! and on the TV it looked PERFECT but mind you this is a 55 projection TV not a new flat screen HDTV where it is easier to see detail and imperfections.

but on my projection TV it looked amazing and the sound was perfect (all the highs and low bass notes came over well).

Second I tried it on my PC with a hi res 21 inch screen, and in SOME cases I could notice the lower quality video IE battle scenes with the ships from a distance sometimes I could see a TINY bit of digitizing, or the black wasnt as good as is it should have been in a few cases but STILL VERY acceptable.

Then I burned 180 minutes of video BUT I used 2 channel audio instead of 5.1 and then I couldnt even tell on my computer if it was a actual DVD or burned DVD.

But I PREFER to have the 5,1 sound and a slightly lower quality image, because on my TV it looks perfect and the sound is bangin :)

The ultimate test will be when I try it on my brothers setup he has a nice 36 inch SONY wega HDTV top of the line with a good 10k sound setup.

and its a VERY VERY VERY painless procedure with cloneDVD, I admit I used a illegal copy initially but I am purchasing it now because I am so happy with it.

You even have the option of only putting 3 episodes per dvd to boost the image quality and continue to do so IE burn 3 episodes per dvd even though the orignal dvd has 4 episodes and it works flawlessly.

CHEERS
