DVD xcopy why wont it play ?

being New to dvd burning I was wandering why dvd xcopy wont play the backups on my stand-alone dvd player is it my player or am i doing something wrong thankyou for any help

Try burning with Stomp Record Now Max

I have used it on a number of +R and +RW discs with no problems. The discs play on most of the newer set top players ( +- 12 months old etc)

@duffyy Pioneer will not burn +r or +rw dvds.
More players play dvd-r than dvd+r anyway. Although like u say, most new ones play both.

thanx for the advise all the player is a sanyo 7201 pass on the media i just asked for blank discs from the shop i got the writter

which dvd writer is it? What make, model?
Your Player should play dvd-r and dvd+r according to vcdhelp.
However that cannot be guarenteed.

The discs should be dvd-r or dvd-rw then.
Do you use dvd2svcd already?
If u do this is an easy to follow guide to make dvd backups.

thats the ones dvd r . and yes i use dvd2vcd with good results but just wanted to try and backup a full dvd. the copy seems fine and auto plays on the pc no problem and the picture is fine but just wony play on the stand alone player !!!!
