Dvd X Copy

I downloaded DVD x Copy gold and Xpress. I can't get it to work
anymore. I believe I hit update. Is it true that you can delete certain
registry keys and every thing works again ? If so what are they
and how do you do it. I'm in great need of help.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.....don't spare on the details.
