DVD to VHS

Hi peeps.. I use clad dvd to rip my films to the hard drive, then use PowerDVD to run the film through my Radeon 7500 which is hooked up to my nicam vcr, everything works a charm, picture and sound are great......so here is the problem.......for some reason when i try to playback the video on a non nicam vcr the sound quality is very very low, you have to turn the volume on the tv all the way up which is still no use because of the hiss.
Doesnt bother me that much because i can watch the films no problem, it's just that a few of my friends still dont have nicam vcr's.
Is there anyway that i can increase the output volume when i'm recording a DVD rip?
I dont have any recording levels on my vcr.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Make sure the output from the dvd is set to stereo or even mono.
It maybe trying to output dolby.

yep...that´s true ...if the output is set to stereo ... voices are really silent and music plays loud !

On your Power DVD player, under audio section. Switch to 2 channel stereo mode, not surround sound. Everything will be find.

What I do to get normal volume in my VHS rips is to check that the volume is set to 100% in PowerDVD player and in the wave volume control or whatever other volume control that might be influencing your video audio output (open the sound control applet of your control panel and play with the levers. Disconnect your computer speakers and hear the sound from your TV monitor). That's the only way I can get the sound on the VHS copy at a similar (normal) volume as other tapes or the TV are.
I use PowerDVD to play the DVD and DVD Region-Free to eliminate the DVD protections, so you can tape directly to VHS without having to rip the DVD to your Hard Drive. It works fine and easy.
