I have been searching the site thoroughly for a discussion on ripping DVDs to anything BUT vcd/divx. I currently have a set of 3 movies (1hr, 30mins, 30mins) that I would like to put together - BUT do not want to do the methods mentioned in tutorials that allow me to do it that way. I am looking for a program that is preferably freeware that rips dvds to .avi or .mpg or .mpg2 no matter the size. I would use the divx method, however when I go to burn it I won't be able to utilize it.
I am looking to create a DVD with the software Adobe Encore. I know how to use it very well and am familiar with it. I enjoy creating my own menus and doing as I please with it. So, thats why I would like 3 individual .avi/mpg/mpg2 files that I can work with and create new timelines with and then incorporate into one main menu that branches out. Does such a decent software exist and perform this function? Thanks.
