Changelog:-

-- Fixed bug in re-author module which occurred in certain DVDs with a strange PGC structure. This bug caused dvd player to freeze or lockup at specific points in the movie.

--Added support for 64bit file sizes.

--Added support for opening files generated by IFOEdit software.

--Fixed bug which caused analysis to crash if input video stream is corrupt.

--Attempt to make "Remapping VOBS" stage more reliable, even if there are errors on original DVD.

--Added automatic "retry" (4 retries) if read from disk fails.

--Fixed error in .IFO file output: vtsi_mat_ea, vts_tmapt_ea.

--Fixed bug where video could be corrupted in some rare situations (vobu containing more than one sequence header).

--Tweaked video encoder module, now slightly faster.

--Fixed bug in "Still Pictures" mode, picture temporal reference is now set correctly, and sequence end code is always written.

--Added "Total Processing Time" information to finish dialog.

--Added support in "Preferences" for combining titles which overlap or share the same video in the DVD View. This prevents confusion where a compression level applied to one title also affects another, because they share the same video.
What is this guy on? :D :D :D

I guess WinRAR took over from CCD in the update stakes! :p

Great!
The developer puts some real efford in his program to make it as good,or even better than it's commercial opponents!:)

Well I've done a couple of large full disk movies with this new version now and it really has blown me away with the results.

It's quicker than v2.1 too, and now has a progress % showing in the taskbar unlike both IC7 & DVD2one. It's these little things that he is paying attention too that really makes an impresion in my book.

DVD Shrink / Record Now Max

I recently made a backup using dvd shrink 2.3 and Record Now Max 4.5. Compressed files total size was 4.3Gb re-encoded. I burned the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folder using Record Now Max 4.5 data disc to burn the files. Everything went succesful in that part. But when I play the disc in my computer using Power DVD 4.0 it says unknown file format. I tried different methods using the latest version of nero but still gives me same error. Did I missed a step, if so what went wrong:confused:

Hmm, should work fine. Are you sure you are "closing" the DVDR?

When you have loaded your TS folders into RNM click on data job options > DVD > Select TAO closed.

I tried that no success. I can view the files now using power dvd. But when I burn them with nero video dvd option I get unkown file format error. I tried with RNM and I get a windows error:(

Hi there LAZ. What kind of software you use to burn the files from dvd shrink 2.3. ;)
I usually use Stomp RNM and add an empty AUDIO_TS folder too.

Also I am finding CloneDVD good for the burn process, that makes it's own VIDEO_TS folder for you.

Unknown File Format

Thanks for replying LAZ, I'll try that today and I will post. Right now I'm trying with DVD2ONE and it works fine. But I would like to do my backups with dvd shrink because I don't have to sacrifice movie quality. I compress extras and other files. I don't understand why I keep getting unknown file format when I try playing dvd backup on my computer. It plays fine when I open the files with power dvd. Also it won't play in my standalone. I have tried different methods including Nero, RNM. Any help would be great as I prefer DVD Shrink freeware. Thanx.

Problem Solved

Hi there guys. Thanks for all the help. My problem was Power DVD. I removed it and installed latest ver. Now I burn the files with Roxio 6.0 data disc and it works in my PC and standalone :p

Thanks to information recieved from the members of the forum today.this info might help.

Could you have had a similar problem to mine as I use DVDshrink what a great free program. Did you put all your created vobs into a folder called VIDEO_TS.

I had the same problem burnt all my files but did not place them in a VIDEO_TS directory. It would play in power dvd but not in my standalone player burnt again and used the Clone dvd burn engine that luckly it placed all vobs into a directory.

Hi there Barry. What I did was compressed the necessary files with dvd shrink 2.3. then re encode. Next copy all the files to a VIDEO_TS folder, also don't forget to create an empty AUDIO_TS folder. Open up your burning software select data disc and drag both of the folders and burn.
Please note when using nero you don't have to create the VIDEO_TS or AUDIO_TS folders because nero creates them for you. Just click on create DVD disc (not data disc) drag all the files to the VIDEO_TS folder, leave AUDIO_TS folder blank then burn. I'm currently using Roxio 6.0. Hope this helps. ;)

Laz's Guide

I used the Totally FREE & Easy DVD Backup Guide posted by Laz. My problem is I can only get 57% total copy. That which is copied is of excelent quality. My question is what am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance... Clydeamus
