hi,
i have the follow problem:
when im trying to backup a movie DVD from DVD-9 to DVD-5 format
i use DVD Shrink to compress the .vob files...
then i use Nero Recode to burn the DVD-video; it burns the DVD+R (4x) perfectly (with my Ricoh MP-5240) without error...
but then, when i try to read the DVD then, win2k isnt able to get any data from the DVD
--> i have burned over 6 DVD´s with this method, only 2 DVD`s work; the rest i think is unuseable/broken :(

moreover i cant simulate burning;

can anybody help me, i have no plan, what the problem is...
thx

You are the first one that has managed to burn with Nero Recode- unless you mean something different than what you said.

I thought that nero recode and dvd shrink are nearly the same cause they were developed by the same man ;)

I think you are using dvd-shrink and nero burning.

no i have compressed the .vob files with dvd shrink to dvd-5 format (ca. 4,4GB) first and then compressed it surely 10% more and burned it with nero recode!

because i cant open the .vob data files directly from the dvd-drive ;(

I don't like the idea of dual recoding... either use just shrink all the way, or DVD decrypter for de-cssing and Recode for fitting.

but with what ++++++ proggi should i burn it??
cant import dvd-files with nero Dvd-Video...!
Edit by Rastabt! :mad:

When DVD Shrink has re-author your dvd then burn all the files with Nero Burning Rom as DVD Video (add them all in video_ts folder) and not with Nero Vision.
