DVD-RW data cant read by DVD/CDRW Combo drive

Hi everyone,
This might have been discussed here earlier but maybe i don't know where to find it.

My problem is this,
I copied a data file using the DVD writer Pioneer AO6J using verbatim DVD-RW and formatted and copied the data using VOB Instantcopy software.

When i tried to read the data using my new laptop ACER 291XCi (DVD-CDRW combo drive) it does not read the data. I tried playing a DVD movies in it and it plays well. I assume a combo drive should read DVDRW data files right?

Now i am confused which one is giving the problem.

Any advise where i can start troubleshooting?

If you used InstantCopy,you probably burned in TAO mode and didn't close the session,which means that the dvd is only readable in the computer you made the copy...

what is TAO...i'm sorry for my ignorance, i am just starting to learn dvd related stuff....

yes you are correct...i can only read it in the computer that i made it...
i am trying to figure out now what you mean by closing.
