DVD Rom Problem

Hi,

My DVD rom has stopped reading DVD-R's this morning, it will read CD's and retail movie DVD's, but if you put a DVD-r in the PC freezes up on me and I have to power down (cant reboot properly !!) and start back up to get the disc out ?!

I have not installed anything to make this happen, dont think I have changed any settings either ?!?

I did try a system restore, and went back a few days but thats not helped at all...

I have ran NeroTool and it reports everything is well.

Does anyone have any advise please ? or is my drive capput !!

It could be that your dvd drive is dirty, try cleaning your drive using a compressed air bottle and pointing it to the innards of the drive with the tray open.
