dvd ripping problem

i am trying to rip a dvd, i've tried dvdx but get a error cant read a block, tried ripping to my hd but also get a error, i've ripped loads of dvds & never had a problem, the dvd i am tring to rip runs fine on a dvd player but i cant rip it. can anyone help

Seems to me, the DVD your trying to rip has a small scratch on it and your DVDROM in conjunction with DVDx can't read past it.

I would look at the DVD and give it a clean with a soft cloth and "REMEMBER TO WORK FROM THE MIDDLE OUT TO IT'S EDGE OR ELSE YOU COULD SCRATCH IT EVEN MORE".

Also try a different DVD Ripper, something like DVD-DECRYPTER or SMARTRIPPER, you could even try vSTRIP which is reckoned by some to be the best Ripper there is. The only thing is it's a little compilated to use.

Have you try others DVD-ROM :confused: IF you have 2nd pic. Error reading is not your disc could scratch. May be or not. This DVD must be well protect disc. Ripping may read block error in red color. Or block dropping. The below info hope that will help. Thanks.

did u try to open a soft dvd player ...play some seconds of the disc ... stop playing ... start ripping ...
sometimes u have to unlock the discs with this method ...

give it a try
