the claims of this proggy are not entirely true, as have tested it sometime around June (I think). It just didn't work on my Sony DVD-ROM drive which was locked until I flashed it.
Could just be it didn't work with that drive, or they are using new methods now, but am sure I have seen this available on some warez site.
Will try and get the latest version to test at work.

PS
this topic has been covered before though:

I had been actually trying to find if I could make my mother in laws dvd and I came across a British site (sorry can't find it-I'll keep looking ) and the fix was so bloody simple I was sure it wouldn't work - but it DID. I can now take it back to her when she comes back off her hols now able to play Yank dvd's. (Its a dvd player not a comp one by the way. Just to say that the stand alone ones can be done too.

Some standalones (Phillips) can be done just by inputting a code with a remote control and yes it does work. This site explains it all h**p://www.vcdhelp.com/

Inertiae - cheers for the "Dvd Region-Free" crack, it works a treat. I actually found a similar thing this afternoon on h**p://xxx.filemirrors.xxx but the .dll file had some kind of corruption on it as when I opened the settings of the program, virtually all the options had weird characters like this: ??*$"^&*. Shame there's no keygen for version 1.05 though, as this build still has "This is an unregistered version" in the about screen :(Perhaps a group will write a keygen for it which will also fix the problem if you accidentally alter the system clock. Cheers!

I found the above site better, bertieg. This was the one that gave me the button-pressing-sequence to do my mother-in-laws dvd. And it worked a charm. :)
