DVD recording in Linux

Hi

I have just installed Mandrake 10.0 and I am looking for some programs that will backup/copy dvd:s.

I am a newbie on linux so so excuse my lack of knowledge!

My recorder is a NEC 2500-a

Thanks in advance

Thanks, but I cannot install it, because when I try to do that, I requires installation cd 4......but I have only 3 cds.....

And I am not so sure it will backup every DVD I have.....only them without Css encryption....

The fourth CD is not really needed, if you set your URPMI repositories right, but anyway you can get it say here or here as well as many other places.
Of course there ARE packages that can do the de-css ripping and transcoding, and you even have a choice. K3B is surely the best burner for Linux, although you can also use the old, reliable X-CDRoast with proDVD.
Are you willing to use a few packages from "Cooker" (that is the unstable branch of Mandrake- don't worry, they don't bite too much... actually I feel brave enough to use 10.1 Cooker as my main OS currently) or you prefer things as easy and "stable" as possible? Answer that and I can give you a full tut.

Thanks alot! I have installed K3B! As you said, it´s no need of the forth cd.
Well, brave or stupid....not so sure...I am not afraid to try unstable software.
When I can burn DVD:s in Linux(all kinds) I will switch and use Mandrake as my primary OS.

So, give me a full tut!
