I have recieve this error every time I try to use dvd-rb w/ quenc 0.51 @ 100% of encoding. "COULD NOT OPEN VIDEO CODEC" The resulting output is a stuttering picture and off sound. Can anyone please help?

The Movies: The Last Samuri, Matrix Reloaded, 21 Grams
Using DVD Stripper, DVD Decrypter to strip extras.
DVD-RB 0.56 with QuEnc 0.51 setup per doom9 guide to complete.

I have used this method with Shrink on file requiring minimal compression without any problems.

I have never used QuEnc with RB, but there where a few versions of 0.51, maybe download it from another site. RB does NOT work with 0.53, not sure about 0.52 though.

Latest version is actually 0.53. Can remember seeing that error mentioned at doom9, however I think the forums are still down and I can't remember the cause/solution or check.

I ran more tests last night. I thought maybe a media problem. tried 2 different dvd's with the same problem. both disks played fine on my computer, but not the stand alone. (panasonic dvd-rv30). I ran the last samuri with shrink and it played fine on both players. only the quality is not what I am after.

As I said

Some flag name changes were made in 0.53 that makes it incomatable with RB, you will read it at doom9 when its forum is up.

@cadima, RB works fantasic with CCE Lite, its only US$59. The results are better than QuEnc and about the best possible, you get what you pay for.

thanks chickenman, I was already considering cce basic. I'm starting to think QuEnc is the problem and if $59 will solve my problems and give better results than I am in.

Ok, got it. It is not so much the kvcd option but the -nokvcd option. Recompiling or hex editing v0.53 with kvcd options instead of qlb it works fine. Note though that the EXE is upx'd, you need to unpack it if you want to edit it.

Thanks for all the info. It looks like Doom9 is finally back up with info on my problem. I ran Last Samuri with cce sp 2.5 trial with not a single error and half the time as QuEnc. I think I will probably be switching to cce basic instead of dealing with what looks to be multiple problems with QuEnc. On cce trial version, is the logo always there? I have not burned my movie to disc yet and would like to before I actually buy anything, but will I be wasting a disc with that annoying logo there? Is there anyway to get rid of this?
