I have some videos filled onto one DVD+R, with using RecordNow and Nero, i have been making copies of them, no problem. The time ususaly takes about 15-20 mins on 4x to burn a copy. and now all of a sudden, the amount of time it takes jumps up to 45 MINS!!!!! for a single copy, still using 4x i tryed nero and record now, both programs still take about 45 mins to make it. why is this? and how should i fix?

hi this might be simple to fix, what size of hard drive do you have,if its small it might be struggling if you have a lot of big mpeg files on it, try keeping the file numbers low, to avoid a bottleneck, secondly if you dont have anything on the drive that you put the films on try formatting it after you burn the film, are you using xp or windows 98, possibly you need to defrag the drive

hope this helps a little :)

Are you using XP for a OS? If you are double check to see that windows see's your drives as at least Ultra DMA Mode in the device manager. You have to love Microshit. :)

i agree to check the dma setting.
I was only read\writing at 1.4x max then I checked my dma for hdd and it was set at p10.
I dont know why it changed (have changed the ide cable just in case).
Now back to x8

In XP, go to Device Mangler/IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers and click on the plus sign [+] next to the IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers to expand that section ... then double click on the Primary IDE Channel to display the Properties window and click on the Advanced Settings Tab.

You need to do this for the Secondary channel also.
