I am using an LG Super Multi DVD Writer. I understand there is a difference between DVD-R and DVD+R and that my writer does them both. My question is does one format shine above the other when it comes to data vs video?
In the Uk i recommend -r as they are cheap for hgh speed good quality blanks.
It may be a different story in your homeland.
In mainland europe the opposite is true.
Both formats are the same price in my part of Canada - about $2.00 to $3.00 each.
Thanks for your help.

you might want to check out this web site to see what format you player will play. http://www.videohelp.com/dvdplayers i found it to be the best site in determining the format in which your dvd player plays.
And here in Australia, the -R is supreme. I spoke to my dealer (largest importer in Oz) a couple of weeks back and he reconds +R makes up only 2% of all of his DVDR sales. The +R tends to struggle playing on most "older" DVD Players.
Here in the USA, I have found - of course by trial and error that DVD-R's are the only choice for me, too many incompatabilities with the other format. The only thing I can see that the +R's have going for them (at the present) is the 8x burning capability, although not for long.........
i find dvd+r with dvd-rom booktype to have the highest compatibility. if booktype changing is thrown out, dvd-r is slightly more compatible than dvd+r.
