Hi All,

I've a problem duplicating a DVD-R media. Appreciate if someone can help.

I've copy a video from a VCR to a DVD-R using a Panasonic DVD Recorder Player. It is able to be play on other DVD player. The file format is .vob. Next, I try duplicate(Disc Copy)the disc with Iomega Super DVD Writer using the Hotburn Pro software that comes along with the writer. Disc copy process complete without any error message.

However, I'm not able to play the disc on any DVD player. It prompt Disc Error on the Player screen. Btw, the media I'm using is Imation DVD-R.

Thanks,
Kenn

Is the original on the same media?

Does the copy play on the PC?

CDRInfo did a test of Media/recorder/player combinations - some did well, some did badly.

For a DVD to play on a Stand Alone DVD Player the DVD- R must contain an AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS folder with all the IFO/VOB/BUP files in the VIDEO_TS folder. Also these folder names need to be in capital letters. If your DVD-R is not in this format it will not play in a "Stand Alone DVD Player".

Regards,
Coaster

Yes, the original is on the same media(imation DVD-R)
No, the copied disc does not auto-play as the original media.

Hi Coaster,

Fyi, I did a disc copy using Hotburn Pro(Software).

Thks,

Not familiar with your burning software, but what Coaster is saying is .... you need to check your burnt copy to see if it has the correct DVD structure.

Explore the disk and see if it has the two main folders ... VIDEO_TS & AUDIO_TS. As mentioned these must be in capitals.

The AUDIO_TS folder should be empty and the VIDEO_TS folder should contain all your files. These will include .ifo, .bup and .vob files for each titleset.
