dvd question

I have a toshiba dvd player and when I try to play a burnt copy of a dvd it displays a black screen stating that I am using a backup and that it is illegal to use burnt copies. However I can play it on my computer with no problem. Is there a way that I can trick my toshiba dvd player into thinking that is an original disc, so I can play the burnt disc and how do I accomplish this. Any firmware copy right protectection unlocking software?

A firmware fix is going to be exact model specific. What is your exact model number ?

It is a standalone dvd player that is hooked up to a tv the model is sd 2900. The manual says that it doesn't support dvd ram discs but I was wondering if there is a fix that will let me play the burnt dvd discs

The best place I've found for this information is dvdrhelp but for some reason the site is down today. Maybe someone knows of another place or try tomorrow.

How did you make the copy? I've played DVD-R's on a Toshiba SD-2900 with no problems.
