Can anyone tell me which is the best type of media to use when burning DVD's. There also seems to be a vast price difference in the price of blank DVD's. So what sort of price should we expect to be paying? Does anyone have any suggestions?

I think most people will agree when I say Ritek is the best media to use. Very reliable and very compatable. I get mine at blankdiscshop.co.uk but I think the forum sponsor XSCT sells 'em quite cheap also. One thing I am sure of though NEVER USE BULPAQ as they suck big time. I would not trust my cup to one.

Buying DVDR's is like buying anything, you get what you pay for. Buy cheap, expect an inferior product, buy the most expensive and you get results. But you can be buying a lot of brand name in the expensive stuff (eg Sony), then mid-to-high price range never fails for me.

Tried Bulkpaq - 80% failure rate & wouldn't akways read after writing

Any with G04 dye (Ritek) - 100% success on > 100 disks

You choose...

I use memorex from play.com £17.99 for 24 cake pack delivered dont think you will better that
You can better that with pretty much all the other media in the universe, as the big majority of -R Memorex media and about 60% of the +R are made by CMC Magnetics (also known as el crappo).
But there are also hi- quality Verbatim media (a few) made by Mitsubishi Chemicals, and also I have heard about small badges by Taiyo Yuden and Ricoh, which should not be available at all outside Japan. The bad thing is that you know what you've bought only after opening the box, so I would surely prefer a more secure solution...
