dvd program that playes like a settop player?

Hi everyone!

I'm not sure how to word this so I'll do my best and hope you understand.

I've striped a dvd and removed some extras from the dvd.
I've done the hole dvd-rw thing but its such a pain to have to erase it over and over so I can try all possible option on my settop dvd player.
Is there a program that plays like a TRUE settop dvd player on ur pc so I don't have to keep burning to a dvd-rw all the time?
Plus can it play the dvd backup files from the HD?

Any help would be great thanks!

I use PowerDVD to do what you want. Also you can try it before you buy. Let us know how you make out. I also moved your post I belive this the right place to get the info you want.

Sorry.. should have said that I use that program and it doesn't act like a TRUE settop dvd player.

I was told by someone that there is a program out there that plays pretty close to a TRUE settop dvd player. I just can't remember the name of it.

It also depends on your settop player. It might not be your options, Your player may not be able to play the blank dvdrs. Search here to see what your player compatibility is.

Aus-RED-5, use the DVD player in IfoEdit V0.96.... I have found it to be as close to a desk top player as you can get. I found if I can get my stripped DVD to work properly with this player, then when I burn to DVD-R, I don't end up with a stack of coasters.

Ifoedit 0.96 as mentioned by Mr_Fixer is reported by many in many forums as the closes thing to a settop DVD Player.

Mark's DVD player is a good one also as that will still play DVD's but it will also inform you something is up in the meantime
