DVD Playback Problem

Hi.
Recently I've been getting errors when trying to play a dvd on my computer. Actually, it's a new computer (about a month old), and when I first tried out DVD, it worked. Now when I try to play a dvd I get "Cannot play DVD video" or similar error when I try any DVD program. I'm pretty sure it's not hardware related since nothing new has been installed from the time I tried out the DVD before. The computer seems to read the dvd properly because the dvd has a menu and I can select to "play movie," but before the dvd actually starts I get the error. I've tried changing the color quality and screen resolution, but it didn't work. Can anybody help out? Thanks if you can.

Hi welcome.. :)
Does this happen to all DVD's being played or just that one your using at the moment?
What software player are you using to view your DVD's?(PowerDVD,Win Media player etc)
Also please check you aspi files..look here for help on this.
Are these orginal press DVD's as some back up copie's may not play on some drive's..

I was using WinDVD 4, but I found out how to fix it on another topic. I just had to uninstall and reinstall to the lastest version and rename the ac3audio file. Thanks for the help.
