DVD Drive prices steadily going down.

I keep thinking??? do I really need all that room on a disc and unless I start copying DVDs I'm not sure I would ever need it.

They are great too for emu ROM collections, I've got all my MAME stuff on 2 DVDR's now which is nice as all I have to now do is put one disc in my burner and the other in my reader and I then have full access to all games without having to keep taking out and replacing CD's every time I want to swap a game.

I still have'nt bought one yet, but will soon. A friend of mine just made me a dvd-r disc with 0001-1000 gba's and the visualboy emu on it and it plays straight from the disc. It's better than having all those roms on my hd.

@ blane my GBA rom collection spans 7 x 80 min cds at the moment bleh !! :( lol but thats including hacked versions and pd versions etc etc :)

lol, mine is only 5 x 80 min CDR's! :(

I need to catch up, they are not for me but for my boy! :D

Next week I'm going get this over with and order a dvd burner. I waited all this time for the one from lite-on, only to be disappointed by the price. So I'm just going to get the pioneer a05/105.

You just cannot go wrong with this drive m8 IMO, espcially now the hacked 2X firmware is out and works so well.

I have yet to burn a single coaster with this unit and I have burned one hell of a lotta DVDR's I can tell you! :D
