DVD Decryptor only write at one speed??

Hi guys (and dolls),

All this information refers to DVD Decrypter (version just before latest, can't remember the number!), and my Philips DVDRW824 (which can read/write DVD-R's as well as DVD+R's)...


I've been told that when I want to backup my PS2 games then I should do them on 1x speed to avoid any burning complications... however when on the main screen in ISO write mode (the one with the box on the right that tells you the information of the disc you've got in the drive) I click on the drop down box with the speeds in and choose 1x then when I press the button to burn the ISO image onto the DVD-R (Datawrite GO5's) it starts the burning process but just goes up to the maximum burning speed of 2.4x and carries on!!

I was going to try ALCOHOL 120% to see if that will write with 1x but before I did I wanted to know if anyone else had this problem or knows how to rectify it as I'm rather fond of DVD Decryptor!!!



So if anyone know anything about this problem I would be grateful for some advice...

Decryptor uses the Nero engine to burn, so whatever your problem is it's directly attributed to the Nero version you use.

It could also be your firmware. I just had a problem with my DVD burner when I updated the firmware Decryptor only burned ISO files @ 2x on G04's and the box on the right (that tells you the media information) of the screen only told me the media could be burned at 2x. When I down graded the firmware it fixed the problem. Now I have a different burner but it sounds like the same problem.

Oh... Well I'll try through Nero or Alcohol 120% and see if it does the same. If it is still only writing on MAX speed what should I do then PC-GUY?

please reread the Nero help file; there is an option in the advanced recorder setting which enables a sort of "auto speed selection"; mostly called "Smart Burn" or "Auto Write Speed Control" but depends on the burners brand;
