have you tried cleaning the disk or looking for scratches or scuffs on the disk surface !?
I agree. :) I have found with DVD Decrypter when you get an error it turns out to be a dirty or a scratched disc. :)

yeah, had a good look at it, there appear to be some minor scratches but nothing serious though, although i could be wrong.

is there anything i can find around the home that will clean this up or is it a lost cause ?

As silly as this may sound M8, try using a non abrasive toothpaste, apply to the scratched areas and then, when completely dry, polish off the excess with a clean, non abrasive cloth .. the toothpaste will remain in the scratches and prevent ' skip '.

Although I have never tried this on a movie disk, it does work perfectly well with audio disks, and has rescued me on many occasions ;)
