Why dont you take in with shrink then select compression level 1-7 then back up to hard drive and burn with Clone DVDjondoe said:i am using dvd decrypter to rip then i tried to use shrink but it says the file place is not specified or unable to open???? why??? please help me i but a feeble newbie!!!
I have done this with my WIN98SE system. I can create the virtual drive with Daemon Tools, but DVD Shrink will not see the disk... it shows the new drive, but "no disk", even though it is mounted with Daemon Tools. Explorer will now show virtual disk contents either.Amerzone said:First of all, make sure that you are using either ISO or FILE mode, not IFO. Furthermore:
1. If you use ISO mode and Win9x/ME (or 2K/XP with FAT32 partitions, instead of the default and way better NTFS), then you should check in the settings that DVDDec splits the image file automatically. DVDDec will split the image file (which is bigger than 4GB, and therefore not accessible to FAT32) and will also create an MDS description file. Then, mount the MDS to a virtual drive, created with Daemon Tools, and in DVDShrink choose "Open Disk" and select the virtual drive.
2. If you use File mode, make sure that you have chosen in DVDDec settings to select all files in the dvd, by default. In DVDShrink, you choose "Open Files" in this case.
3. Never ever use IFO mode, unless you want to encode the movie only to DivX, XviD, etc.
There is absolutely no problem with DVDDec and DVDShrink 3.1.x...
