DVD creation problem with Ulead DVD Movie Factory Disc creator 3

I've been using Leadtek's WinFast PVR capture card to record video to mpeg 2 (NTSC DVD compliant) format, then I use Ulead DVD Movie Factory Disc Creator 3 to make DVD files...which, depending on how large the files are, I then compress using DVD Shrink.

Anyway, I usually don't have a problem with DVD Movie Factory, but I recently get the error "the source file has some problems" and/or "cannot create file"....this usually occurs towards the end of the "Video/Audio Multiplexing" phase.

In the most recent time, I was trying to burn 8 South Park episodes, which I planned to compress with DVD Shrink. However, I noticed the error does not occur if I split it into 2 different projects of 4 episodes each.

So, does anyone know why I would be getting this problem? And/or, can you reccomend a better way of burning a project like this (i.e. different software, or just different methods), since I realize my method is a little complicated.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks for the suggestion, I will probably try that program. In the meantime though, I tried TMPGenc DVD Author and encountered a very strange problem. The audio seems to get out of sync with one video about half way through 1 episode...now, the reason I say this is strange is that it only happened on one episode, AND it also happens when I am previewing the video to insert chapter points and etc. BUT, the original file is not out of sync at all.

This is odd, because I find that audio sync problems usually happen during conversion, and since I record the videos in DVD format, I don't need to convert anything, and thereby avoid that problem.

I find it very strange that the original file is fine, yet when previewing it in this program the audio gets out of sync...and it's also odd that it only does it with 1 out of 8 videos.

Any ideas on why this would happen?

you said "I record the videos in DVD format"; But what is the embedded audio format?

DVD PAL standard is 48 kHz 224 kBit/s CBR stereo MP2 or 48 kHz 224 kBit/s CBR multichannel AC3;
DVD NTSC standard is 48 kHz 224 kBit/s CBR multichannel AC3;

if you didn't record in the correct audio format, then audio conversion is needed, which may end in a sync problem;

hmm, I'm not sure what the audio format I record in is...but it is only out of sync on that one file, and only in that program (TMPGenc DVD Author)

I did it in DVD Movie Factory....with only 6 episodes on a disc, as opposed to 8 (which I guess was the origianl problem; some sort of bug in the program that won't allow it to create DVD files past a certain size...just guessing though), and it worked with no audio problems.

Very strange...god I hate inconsistent problems. :mad:
