can anyone tell me how to copy original dvds on to a 4.7gb dvd-r. if certain software is needed could someone tell me where to get it and how to use it

Yep always check the retail DVD in DVD Decrypter (ISO Read mode) first, you will be amazed as to how many retail DVD's are DVD 5 and can be backed up easily by again using DVD Decrypter in ISO read/write mode. ;)
