Dvd Burning question

Okay I am really new at this so please forgive if this question goes somewhere it shouldn't.

I have been having trouble with the step after using DVD Shrink and I looked in this forum and found a question from someone asking almost what I needed to know only mine is a little different.

My movie is over the 4.7gb so I downloaded dvdshrink followed all the instructions and managed to create a backup of the movie file the compression used was 50%.
After copying everything to my hard drive I copied to a blank dvd-rw with Nero. The problem is I cannot play the dvd on my home dvd player nor in the playstation.

On the other question I was reading the person had their DVD files set up like this:

video_ts.bup
video_ts.ifo
vts_01_0.bup
vts_01_0.ifo
vts_01_1.vob
...
vts_01_5.vob

This person was advised that dvd-video requires the UDF file system. Also, the dvd-video files should all be placed in a VIDEO_TS folder on the dvd.

Okay that worked

My files are as follows

vts_01_1.vob
vts_01_2.vob
.....
vts_01_5.vob

slightly different than above what are video_ts.bup
video_ts.ifo

do I need to put these in?

Thanks

lilo :)

Yes you have to put ALL the files in VIDEO_TS folder.
After copying everything to your hard drive, you schould add all the files in the video_ts folder when you burn a DVD Video with Nero.

Okay I get it now you leave stuff out it's not going to work. I have completed the shrink over again this time using the re author section of dvd shrink and everthing seems fine there.
Now I have created the video_ts file in a new nero project, chosen DVD (udf) and dragged all the files across.

Cross fingers this is all I have to do.

Thanks

If you choose to make a New Compilation with Nero and then DVD-Video, there is a VIDEO_TS folder already, so you can add there your files and Burn.
