DVD burning Problem..

I don't know if this is the correct forum for this post..If it is Sorry....

I am having an issue when trying to burn files to DVD..I get it all converted,The audio the video into the two folders Audio_TS & Video_TS
But when I try to burn with Nero it keeps failing..When it fails the first line says"Illegal Medium" Then it goes to "Generating DVD High Compatibility Border" Then below that it says "Illegal Medium" Then the next line says
"Could not perform end of Disc at Once" Then it says "Burn process failed" & it stops.Could all of this be caused by the Blank DVD...I am using Memorex DVD+R 4.7GB 120 Minutes. They are in a purple box.Is this medium not good for movie burning..If not what should I use?
Any help would be appreciated...

Since 80% (or close to that) of the posts in the forum are about DVD burning problems with Nero, I think it's reasonable for the forum admins to open a dedicated subforum- and maybe the posts there being automatically answered...

The "AUDIO_TS" folder should be empty

The "VIDEO_TS" should contain VOB & other files

The folders shoud be named Exactly as above.

After that I cannot help (I dont use Nero) except to say try Recordnowmax to burn your DVD

Sounds like crap media to me. With all those "Illegal Media" errors, it point directly to the brand or that particular batch of media. Suggest you try burning on different media and report your results.

What medium do receommend? I have tried 2 different Brands now & still the same result....Well not exactly the same..The 2nd one I tried Nero won't even recognize...

If using Nero, do NOT use the DVD-Video template. Tries to check the coding too much and has always given me errors. Just select the bottom DVD icon, DVD ROM UDF/ISO, add the (all CAPS) VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders, name the disk, burn it like Nero torching Rome.

Or use the new BurnAtOnce .98 - if you have DVD-R(W); DVD+R(W) is not yet supported.

Burn as ipdave said above and use different media. Sorry I cant recommend any particular media as they seem to differ from country to country. TDK is pretty universal though and always good.
