Hi bud.I really like the Pioneer A0R(?) dvd writer. The cost of dvd-r media is almost equal to the cost of a spindle of cdrs however! They are still jostling on a standard for dvd formats. So it is best to wait, for now.

Prices will come down on writers and media soon. Also keep in mind many movies are double density. The writers can only write half that information. So you need to rip movies first.Very tempting,I was drooling over the Pioneer myself, but I'll wait!;)

sound advice, Woody.

hmmm, hope DVD media and the drive will get popular quick, so i dont have pile up all those cdrs:)

I am in a very odd mood today & so will respond oddly.

There are some pro-manufacturing DVD writers/duplicators you could buy.
These are in the $10,000USD & upward to $59,000USD (write many at once). They are used to make your original DVD movies your like to rent & ripp so much =).

I can't find the link I had before. It showed some pro-duplicators for the price ranges I mentioned above (I bet you need some license for them though)

*off topic but here is a good link for some burners that can do the new SD2.5 writing:
