DVD Authoring in Nero... Am I missing a Trick?!

Hi gang,

A Newbie here, and one that's just bought the new Sony Dual layer. Very happy with all that, and I've been using Premiere Pro to create my movie.

However, rather than purchase Encore DVD I've been using the Nero DVD Authoring thingy (it's free!). But it seems to create all the menus for you, and doesn't really give you much to create new sub-menus.

So can anybody reccoment a half-decent authoring tool that has the following criteria:

  • Free, or less than $50
  • Allows me to create a front menu that has 'Play Movie', 'Select Chapter', 'Extras' etc.
  • Gives me the capability to displaying movies in the menus.

I think you get the idea, something good that won't blow my already blown budget (Premiere's good, but how much??).

Thanks
Richard

DVDLab get's my vote too, however, it is slighly over your budget.
There are two or three authoring apps that fit your criteria, however they are severly limited, and cannot even do the menus and chapter points as easily as Nerovision Express.
Ulead 3, TMPGEnc DVD Author are two.

Much Appreciated

Thanks guys, I will look into that. It's worth spending a few extra bucks if I can be sure of getting the right software. So thanks for your help.
