dup dvd..................

Hi can someone help please.
I downloaded dup dvd from this site, the files state that once the patch is used to use the registration information.
There does not appear to be the opportunity to apply reg inf.

The problem is you can only write one quarter of the the film.
Is there some way to patch the prog to write the complete film.

Sorry if I seem dense but I am new to this site and new to dvd scene.

Cheers for any help.

Try DVDx v1.8. It does everything that dup-dvd does with more options. You can convert DVD to VCD or SVCD. Best of all it's free!!! It won't lock your computer either. Another program is DVD2SVCD. As the name suggests, it only makes SVCD and it wont crash your cpu. Both of these programs are very good, and both are free. The quality of these two programs is much, much better than dup-dvd.

Dup-DVD may be an easy to use product but the results you will get are "not very good" It only works for NTSC as well.

DVDx is another all in one relatively easy to use DVD to VCD program and results can be good but correct aspect ratio is not maintained and is a bit slow.

For VCD's, the best option to use is DVD2AVI/TMPGEnc combination and will produce the best VCD quality possible.
Have a read in the Tutorial Section for an easy to follow guide and software (all free) download.

Actually Dup-dvd 2.1.0 allows you to choose NTSC or PAL, VCD or SVCD at LOW, MED, and HIGH quality. I have done HIGH quality rips of DVDs to VCD that look much better than DvDx 1.8, and SVCDs that look great. Like any software, you have to adjust it to get the best results. TMPGEnc is great as are all the other tools out there, but if you are like me and don't have the time to put the pieces together, the 1-click solution of DUP-DVD is very good. The only problem I have ever even noticed on quality is the movie credits have some artifacting around them and a lot of motion will create less-than-perfect images, but so it is with most transcoders. Bottom line, use what works for ya!
