Dual Layer Burning Problem

Hi,
I have bought a Pioneer 108 for my brother for Christmas and installed it for him. Up to now I have been using single layered discs and have been using:
1. DVD Decryptor (v 3.5.1.0) 2. DVD2one( v1.30) and 3.Nero 6 without a hassle.

I bought a few dual layered Verbatim discs to give dual layer burning a try. I ripped the movie with DVD Decryptor (v 3.5.1.0) and opened Nero 6. When I go to drag the files in the VIDEO TS folder, I get a message saying ‘DVD video files relocation failed. The resulting DVD video may be un-playable, do you want to continue?’
Where am I going wrong? Any suggestions?

I have a good quote for you.

No, didnt use Nero, simply used DVD Decrypter latest ver to read an ISO image and then burn it back. That overcomes Nero's layer brake problem and is easier to use anyway. I've yet to author a DVD9 from my own encodes but see no problem with using Nero as there will be no pre-existing layer brake in the image.
I just just bought a NEC 3500 and I haven't burnt any D/L yet but when I do thats how I will do it.:) Good luck.

Early Nero 6 versions aren't good for dual layer mastering. You have to either upgrade Nero, or use something else (second option makes a lot of sense, IMO).
I have burned my first 3 DL DVD's using Prassi ONES on a NEC 3500 without the slightest hiccup.

You might try reading the dvd as an image with dvd decrypter, then burning it to the DL blank under write image, it has worked for me.

Success

Hi PC-GUY,
used Decryptor to read and write the ISO. No problems! Success! Thanks a lot. Done 2 DL discs so far both worked like a treat.
Happy New Year.
