DUAL CPU Mainboard...

I want to go for a DUAL P4 XEON system but the problem is which mainboard to use. I guess that this will cost me a fortune so I want every cent of my money to worth the buy I will do. I don't know if there are several mobos t support this. The ones I know are the TYAN Tiger Series, The TYAN Thunder series, the Supermicro, the iWill DP400 and the INTEL mainboard. Which one should I choose???

Okay cdorders, I'm not 100% certain about this but I am nearly convinced that both the Tyan Tiger and the Thunder only work with AMD Processors -- principally AMD MP procs. That said, these are supposed to be very good dual proc AMD boards. My understanding is that ASUS provides an even better board for AMD procs.

Here's a link I found for Pent IVs in dual setups:

Maybe I'm wrong, but I've not seen any dual P4 mobo's yet. Dual P3 boards yes & Dual AMD's also.

Laz is correct there have not been released the Xeon P4 yet, but the latest Xeon processors have been upgraded with P4 features even they`re still marked as Xeon PIII (sse2 instuctions, 0.13 microns, etc..)with this in mind if you still want to make a dual Xeon I will suggest using an Intel mobo because it`s more stable but if feel in the mood for an extra flexibility you may want to check the American Megatrends mobos they come with a lot of options.

Also you should consider what will be the use for this because almost all of this products are developed focused on server apps and some multimedia apps do not run as well as they do on regular systems, this kind of apps would run better on a dual PIII or Atholn system.
